About the maker

Care + Use
  • Donabe pots are made for use on gas stove or BBQ grills (with high fire resistant clay)
  • Wash by hand (do not put in the dishwasher) and dry well after washing
  • Do not microwave
  • Do not put in the oven
  • Light colored pottery may discolor if oil or a dark sauce is left for a long time on it. To avoid discoloration, wash as soon as possible after use.
  • When using your donabe for the first time, it is recommended that you soak the pot overnight with the water you used to rinse the rice. This will allow the rice particles that are left in the water to get into the gaps in the clay. This process will help prevent water leaking from the clay.
