Notes: While on paper this is a harder stone, it was somewhat difficult to get the stone to scratch the test Kiridashi. The feedback is strong and it was tackier than expected given its hardness, thus reducing the chances of slipping that can occur with harder stones. Despite it's hardness, it is rather fast to create a slurry — roughly 10-20 seconds. It can create a bright Kasumi with relative ease. Despite it's hardness, it is a good choice for beginners through intermediates.Â
Recommended Usage: Keen edges, polishing frosty to bright Kasumi on wide bevels. Excellent for push-cut tools.
