Local Bladesmith

Theo strives to balance top-notch performance with unique artistry while showcasing fine natural materials and his own non-toxic finishes throughout his work. His quality, handcrafted pieces are built to last lifetimes and aspire to bring more joy and beauty into everyday life, whether at home or in the field.

Growing up in Portland, Maine, a resourceful creativity often led Theo into the woodshop instead of the shopping mall. He has since studied bladesmithing at the New England School of Metalwork and spent years of instruction in blacksmithing, woodworking, welding, and the arts. Theo has enjoyed dabbling in many crafts but has developed his focus on knives and mixed media furnishings. He does all his work in Portland, occasionally teaching out of the Open Bench Project. When not forging blades, Theo works part-time as a caseworker at Preble Street and enjoys rockin’ the guitar.
