Binchotan is some of the purest charcoal in the world. Typically made from oak, it is heated in a kiln for days at a time to create a very carbon rich finished product. With carbon content up to 95%+, Binchotan burns both hotter and cleaner than normal charcoal, resulting in very little smoke or odor and and a preservation of the natural flavors of the food. Binchotan lasts much longer than normal coal, and be re-used.

In addition, by actively engaging with local communities and sharing information on sustainability, we aim to be a company that contributes to an increase in the number of people interacting between local communities and urban areas and a virtuous cycle of job satisfaction and economic cycles. I am doing my daily activities.
Specifically, we systematically cut down abandoned broad-leaved forests, and then plant trees and clear undergrowth to promote growth in an effort to grow healthy forests. Harvested broadleaf trees are efficiently used as white charcoal for fuel and functional charcoal for daily life, using Hyuga Binchotan charcoal making technology, a traditional industry of the region that will be designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Miyazaki Prefecture in 2021. revitalize the local industry and economy, secure the expenses associated with tree planting through sales at a reasonable price for labor and quality, and distribute them to the mountain owners of abandoned forests, related business companies, and work staff. By doing so, we aim to achieve robust corporate management that is sustainable.
These activities and goals cannot be achieved by our company alone, and we believe that both goals can be achieved and established through coexistence with the local community, so-called partnership. In addition, we will actively share information with local communities, related companies, and individuals in order to achieve goals that meet the SDGs, which are international goals that aim for a sustainable and better world by 2030.
Our mission is to build a foundation for a society where young people and children of the next and subsequent generations can have bright hopes for the future, not only in our local communities but also in the wider society, based on these activities that meet the needs of the times. I think so.

From Hitohira:
HI-CONDITION is headquartered in Asakusabashi. This area of Tokyo was famous as ‘the city of textile and leather craftsmen’ but now there are fewer people carrying on that tradition. Hi-CONDITION strives to keep that tradition alive with an attention to detail and quality that honors the history of Taito.
They began as a creative hub and gallery where artists exhibited their artwork and apparel, this included HI-CONDITION's own stencil art. As the gallery progressed, the brand HI-CONDITION was born, incorporating a network of craftsman with their years of art experience into a range of premium apparel, bags kitchen wear and accessories.
