Forged and sharpened all by hand from one of the most esteemed brands in Japan, Iwasaki. The Ura was carved by a sen (basically a drawknife for metal) which is tedious and time consuming, but allows for exceptional precision. The heat treatment from Iwasaki is deservedly legendary. This is a metallurgical masterpiece.

It has a single bevel construction like traditional Japanese kitchen knives, meaning it can get extremely sharp, but needs to be sharpened differently than double bevel knives. The blade can be used in other applications than woodworking, but care must be taken to not damage the very sharp but brittle edge.
