Notes: Tsushima has become a fairly well-known stone over the past decade, especially given its rather unique origin and relative affordability. They are quarried under water off the small island, Tsushima, which is located between South Korea and Kyushu, the southern most main island of Japan. They are remarkably consistent both within the stone itself, and from stone to stone, and often why the Nagura are widely used. The stone is fairly hard, although it can be gouged. The feedback is pleasant, but requires some skill not to slip when sharpening edges. The particles are fine and friable, making them ideal for polishing. Hard enough for some tools and razors. A good stone for beginners or intermediate users looking for a final polisher or one of the last stones in a polishing sequence.
